Simpang lima Tamil School is one of the oldest Tamil vernacular schools in Malaysia. Thousands of students studied here and now doing well in various field and profession. The former students of SJKT Simpang Lima were really helpful and still contributing their financial aid and manpower for the development of the school. But then there is no an organization or association for them.
Even though so many ex-students of SJKT Simpang Lima tried to form an association for them but all their effort never success. As the largest Tamils school in Malaysia and the first ever Tamil school chosen as "Cluster School", without Former student association was a disgrace. The school management then taken note this matter and instructed Mr Subramaniam, a committee member of school PTA to initiate the formation of the Former Students Association.
As an old boy of Simpang Lima Tamil School in year 1973, Mr Subramaniam successfully managed to form this Association in year 2007. He and his 1973 batch mates joined together in this mission. Their success only came after several small meeting, discussions and mainly the team spirit with lots of enthusiasm.
On 28 May 2007 the first official meeting of the pro-team committee was held in Simpang Lima Tamil School. Totally 58 former students turnover to the meeting and showed their support for the effort of Mr Subramaniam and his team. The pro-team committee then formed end of the meeting. The pro-team committee organized and involved in so many actives to promote the newly formed Old Student's Association. These activities also become the part of membership drive. We tried our level best to achieve the Association's objective to reunite all the former students of SJK Tamil Simpang Lima Klang.
Our association was registed officially on 29th June 2010. The first AGM was held on 28th November 2010. More than 60 members attended the first AGM. The new committee selected and given the trust to run the Association toward excellence. The committee had word hard and deliberately to promote our association and bring development to the school and students in generally.
